EXTENDED DEADLINE: May 25, 2018
Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition invites artists and makers who are deaf and/or disability identified to apply as part of the Art Encounters program, an initiative that embodies our core value of accessibility.
At Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition, we have established a rich tradition of launching successful careers and providing a highly accessible venue for artists and the public to meet face-to-face. For the past 57 years, we have aimed to remove barriers to the arts from the perspective of cost, approachability and by welcoming diverse artists and audiences.
The Art Encounters program provides assistance to offset the costs and relieve the economic pressure of participating in the fair to a select group of artists or makers who are Deaf and/or disability identified. The Art Encounters program is an initiative that embodies our core value of accessibility. Through this program, we will be providing an in-depth professional development opportunity in the form of one-on-one mentorship sessions and a group workshop that will equip the selected artists with tools for success during the 2018 Exhibition.
Thousands of promising and exceptional artists have launched their careers from a simple white tent at Nathan Phillips Square. We want to make sure there are no barriers to any artists to access this fertile environment that we have nurtured for independent artists.
