SIghted Guide Basics

VocalEye

How do you help a blind person cross the road?
How do you get the attention of a blind person?
Is it okay to say “see you later” to a blind person?
Is it okay to pet a blind person’s dog?

This is VocalEye’s first public workshop designed to answer those questions and more. Participants will learn basic skills for guiding and assisting people who are blind and partially sighted in everyday situations. The morning session will focus on practical techniques; the afternoon session will cover language, etiquette and sample scenarios; and the day will end in conversation with members from the blind/low vision community.
