Rebecca Singh

Rebecca is an accomplished audio describer and seasoned performer. In 2020 she founded Superior Description Services where she writes and voices image descriptions for art, creates (extended) described videos for film and television, and provides audio descriptions for live theatre, dance, opera and events in Canada and worldwide. Rebecca has worked on all manner of fiction and factual programming with recorded Audio description / Described Video. Rebecca wrote the chapter on Canadian AD in the Routledge Handbook to Audio Description (Fall 2021). In 2019 she had the honour of being the first ever Canadian audio describer to be invited to speak at ARSAD (Advanced Research Seminar on Audio Description) in Barcelona, Spain and presented at Media 4 All in 2021. Rebecca identifies as a settler who is Black, Canadian, German, East Indian and/or as a person of multiple ethnicities.
