Patricia Allison

Patricia is a Toronto based choreographer, filmmaker, educator, performer, and theatre creator. She is 1/5th of the Shakespeare in the Ruff Leadership Collective. In 2018 she co-won a Dora Award for Best Director in Independent Theatre and has had her work shown at several indie film festivals across Canada and the States. Patricia studied contemporary dance at ladmmi l’école danse contemporaine which she graduated from in 2007. She then earned a Masters of Fine Arts in Dance from York University which she completed in 2019. For the thesis research and project Patricia studied canonical counter discourse and adaptation theory. Patricia was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in April of 2017 and is an advocate for disabled artists while continuing to familiarize herself with her ever changing body. Patricia values collaboration, integration, and accessibility in her praxis.Patricia lives with her wife and two birds Wilbur & Larry.
