Call for Applications: Development Manager
Hosted by JAYU
Deadline: February 1st at 11:59PM EST
Founded in 2012, JAYU is a registered charity that shares human rights stories through the arts and engaging dialogue.
The Development Manager creates and oversees the implementation of a strategic approach to fund development including: grant writing including all three levels of government, corporate, and foundations, and fundraising including annual gifts, major gifts, in-kind resources, and stewardship.
The Development Manager is directly responsible for raising funds for the organization, year-round. This includes researching and writing grant proposals on municipal, provincial, and federal levels of government, as well as any grant applications coming from corporations and foundations. In addition, they are responsible for providing evaluation and project reports as required. They are responsible for working with the Executive Director to maintain and grow current relationships, as well as develop new partnerships.
They are also responsible for the development and implementation of the annual giving plan including cultivating and maintaining relationships with new and existing donors and supporters, developing the Major Gifts Program, and managing our membership program including the Friends of Festival.
As a member of the Management Team, the Development Manager participates in strategic planning and budgeting, in addition to problem solving. They work within the guidelines, policies and mission of JAYU and will be ethical, accountable and responsible. The successful candidate is a positive and outgoing individual who takes initiative, enjoys working collaboratively and is a natural leader, self-motivated to move plans into action.
The Development Manager will collaborate with the Executive Director and Managing Director, who both bring years of experience with fund development. They will support board members to be active in their fundraising and ambassadorial role.
