Call for Submissions: ART IS MOVEMENT
Hosted by The Disability Collective
Deadline for submissions is Friday, February 12th, 2021.
The Disability Collective is seeking submissions from disabled artists of all art forms for our first event, ART IS MOVEMENT: A Virtual Showcase and Fundraiser.
We believe that disability can be defined in many ways, including physical impairments, mental health conditions, emotional disabilities, sensory disabilities, cognitive challenges, and chronic illnesses.
Please send us a brief description of your idea and how you would like to showcase your art. If you have a link to your work, you are welcome to provide it. Artists will have a maximum of 10 minutes to showcase their work. Please be mindful that this event will be available to all ages. As this is an online event, we are happy to consider artists based in any location.
The virtual showcase will take place as a free live stream on Thursday, March 4th, 2021 at 7 PM Eastern Standard Time. If you are unable to participate live, we are welcoming video submissions to be shown at the event.
All artists will be paid an honorarium for their participation in this event.
Accessibility
The Disability Collective is committed to reflecting the diversity of our community, and will make every effort to identify and remove any barriers to inclusion. We welcome and encourage submissions from individuals of any ethnicity, age, gender identity or expression, colour, country of origin, citizenship status, language, physical and mental ability, size, political affiliation, race, religion, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, or any other characteristics that make our communities and individuals unique. We recognize that disability has a compounded impact on those at the intersection of other marginalized communities, such as Black, Indigenous, and 2LGBTQIA+ communities, people of colour, women and femmes, fat people, religious minorities, and more.
We look forward to reviewing your submissions! Thank you for your interest.
