Call for Artists: Living Hyphen
In collaboration with the Department of Imaginary Affairs, we are putting together a special edition magazine of “The Stories of Us” – a project that elevates and amplifies newcomer stories as a tool for learning English.
We are looking for artists to develop visual interpretations of these stories through illustrations, digital art, photography, or other visual approaches for the pages of the magazine. Each artist will be responsible for designing a cohesive visual aesthetic for two sections of the magazine.
Each selected artist will receive a $1000 honorarium.
Selected artists will be working with our graphic designer and editor-in-chief to develop ideas and direction for this project.
Apply by July 11th. Artists will have until September 3rd to submit their work.
We are committed to equity, inclusion, anti-oppression, and anti-racism. This is ongoing work and we are still on a very active learning journey. We are looking for team members who are open to learning and unlearning with us. We are seeking and placing priority on engaging qualified applicants who identify as Black, Indigenous, Persons of Colour, Persons with disabilities, and/or persons across the spectrum of sexual orientation and gender identities.
