Open Call: Hamilton Fringe All Access 2022

In the summer of 2021, you may have heard that the Hamilton Fringe Festival launched an exciting new initiative called ‘Fringe All-Access’. It is a venture we believe is crucial to support talented artists, while exploring how to make a more inclusive and accessible arts scene for our community.

Artists have largely suffered creative, financial, and exposure-related deficits at the hands of COVID-19. The Hamilton Fringe Festival aims to rectify this as much as we can. We are opening this call today for a paid opportunity of CAD $1250.00 to provide live, in-person performance content for Hamiltonians. ‘Fringe All-Access’ represents the evolution of our history of providing creatively engaging, accessible programming at the Fringe. Despite the Hamilton Fringe Festival’s usual focus on theatre, this series (and the main festival) actively encourages submissions of both theatre and theatre-adjacent work. The piece should be suitable for an outdoor stage and feature relatively limited technical requirements. Location: Fringe Club at John Rebecca Park.

Since it is a long way away, we are okay with conceptual art and works-in-progress that will be finished in time for the festival! If you have questions about whether or not your piece fits the criteria, don’t be afraid to email us at: christopher@hamiltonfringe.ca and we’ll help out in any way that we can.

Deadline: February 11th, 2022 at 11:59 PM.
