Job Posting: Graphic Animator

Hosted by Room Magazine

Room Magazine and the Indigenous Brilliance Collective are looking for a skilled graphic animator to create one 2-5 minute video animation for the Indigenous Brilliance Podcast. This animation will be created in response to various audio clip highlights from the first season of the Indigenous Brilliance Podcast.

The selected candidate will work in collaboration with Room team member Karmella during a 1-2 hour concept building session via Zoom, where they will establish a general design and direction for the animation based on the audio clip highlights and desires from the Room/Indigenous Brilliance collective. The audio clips are broad in theme, so we are very open to responding to the animator’s creative direction; we are not looking for any particular animation style, and are open to working with new artists/students.

Applications open until February 4th, 2022.

Priority will be given to Black, Indigenous, and POC animators, as well as those who intersect BIPOC, women, 2spirit, trans, queer, and disabled identities.

If you have any questions, please reach out to karmella@roommagazine.com for support.

Room is Canada’s oldest feminist literary journal, and has published fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, art, interviews, and book reviews for forty years. Published quarterly by the West Coast Feminist Literary Magazine Society, also known as the Growing Room Collective, Room showcases writing and art by women (cisgender and transgender), transgender men, Two-Spirit and nonbinary people.
