Opulent Mobility 2022 Call for Art

Hosted by Opulent Mobility

Opulent Mobility and Antelope Valley College challenge you to imagine a world where mobility, disability, and access are not merely functional, but opulent. Share your art that re-imagines disability, mobility, and freedom!

We accept 2-D and sculptural work, music files, and performances on digital media. The deadline for submissions is July 31 and artists may submit up to 10 works of art. A flat $20 fee covers administrative costs.

OM 2022 is curated by A. Laura Brody and Anthony Tusler.

Accessibility

Art descriptions in text and in audio files, ASL interpreters at the opening and online artist talk, artists may submit digital files instead of shipping artworks, and submissions may be sent either through the online form or directly to the founder.

Use the contact page on the website if you needed additional assistance. If the submission fee is an issue, get in touch with A. Laura Brody at laurabrody@verizon.net and we will try and accommodate you!

Online artist talk will also include captions. Opulent Mobility has provided audio descriptions for all of the artworks since 2015, and each year we try to add more accessibility features. This year, we will be working to make the in-person exhibit more neuro-divergent friendly.

Opulent Mobility began with A. Laura Brody's first mobility artwork in 2009 and expanded to a small group exhibit in 2013. The 2015-2019 exhibits included artists from all around the US and the world. Opulent Mobility is fiscally sponsored by Fractured Atlas, so any donations to help us grow are tax deductible. Let's re*imagine mobility, disability and accessibility together!
