Point of View Ensemble Presents: A Very Special Election

Hosted by Inside Out Theatre

Inside Out Theatre's POV ensemble is proud to present a new digital performance:

Did you think we were done with Elections in Calgary? Think again! A disgraced City Councillor is kicked our of city hall after it’s revealed he bribed a zookeeper to pet a penguin (spoiler alert…. The penguin died). A special election is called. Candidates debate, media personalities rant, protesters protest, civil servants try and keep some semblance of order.

Who will win this very special election? That’s up to you dear audience turned voter. Following the candidate debate our live, at home audiences will be able to cast their vote and choose their candidate.

The Point of View Ensemble, Inside Out’s resident new play creators, have dove deep into everything that could possibly go wrong in an election, and found hope along the way in imaging a future Calgary that’s, depending on the candidate, safe and inclusive or ruled by robots!

Created by and starring the POV: Adrian Houghton Brittany Orlita Damon Lawson Gaelyn Thomson Jennifer Stewart Meighan Wong Mike Keir Richard Pepler

Directed by Col Cseke, Jeremy Park, Michelle Brandenburg and Riki Entz

We are a Deaf and disability theatre company in sunny Calgary Alberta equally invested in artistic excellence, community development, and deepening our cultures’ accessibility. We offer community-based drama programs to Calgarians with disabilities that foster a love of theatre, the joy of community, and the rewards of self-expression. We produce and present plays created by artists with disabilities and their allies that insist on and celebrate their place in the public sphere. And we work to improve theatre’s accessibility for audience members and to ensure their equity and dignity in attending performing arts in Calgary.
