Youth Position: Community Arts Coordinator

This role will be responsible for community outreach and engagement initiatives in order to re-engage with our audiences and reach new demographics as we return to more in-person activities. Throughout the festival we will be animating public spaces and inviting audiences to experience our festival in a variety of ways from workshops and artist talks to community performances and events. This role will help the festival expand its reach and engage with new post-secondary student and youth groups, Seniors, newcomers and community groups while continuing to foster our existing stakeholder relationships. It will also help form new relationships with nearby businesses as we offer discounts or packages to our patrons.

Note this position will be working remotely with some occasional in-person meetings. Any in-person activities will strictly adhere to FFDN’s COVID-19 policies which may require screening, proof of vaccination or masking as applicable.

The candidate must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment and be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the Employment. The candidate must have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

FFDN’s offices are located at 20 Dundas St. West, 9th floor. Staff continue to work remotely with some in person meetings and gatherings in accordance with government issued workplace health and safety guidelines. As a condition of employment, all FFDN staff are required to be fully vaccinated.
