Content Associate

Nia Centre for the Arts is building Canada’s first professional multi-disciplinary arts Centre dedicated to Afro-diasporic art and artists.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the editorial calendar: develop original and curated content to promote programs, celebrate artists and engage with community
- Respond to comments, messages and encourage engagement on all platforms
- Develop and implement social media campaigns to promote programs and support fundraising goals
- Engage with and manage external stakeholders, for example: advertising partners, printers, local promoters, partners
- Produce monthly report tracking campaign performance using data and insights from analytics
- Improve the design, UX, traffic, and content of the website through implementation of a content strategy
Strategic Communications and Media Relations
- Development of an annual communications plan with a vision to enhance Nia Centre’s brand
- Write inspiring content for the newsletter, blog, and other publications
- Create communication plans and content strategies to promote programs, events and client projects
- Work with the executive director and team members on communications to to recognize and inspire donors and sponsors as required
- Build reciprocal relationships with media contacts to secure earned coverage and respond to inquiries
- Manage relationships with PR or agency partners to support media relations
Branding and design
- Work closely with graphic designer and staff to ensure content meets brand guidelines and requirements, and is consistent with our voice, style and tone
- Take photos at events, maintain photo bank and mailing lists
- Solicit and write testimonials, secure photos and quotes for storytelling
