Call for Guest Artists

LIVE (Live Interactive Video Education) Arts is now accepting submissions for guest artists for our 2022/2023 season broadcasts. Emerging and established artists are encouraged to apply.

LIVE Arts is a dynamic distance education arts program for students in Grades 1 to 9. The program supports the Saskatchewan Arts Education Curriculum and is delivered via the Saskatchewan Ministry of Education LIVE Network (CommunityNet). Broadcasts occur monthly during the school year and bring Saskatchewan artists to classrooms in all corners of the province. LIVE Arts is supported through the collaboration of SK Arts, Government of Saskatchewan Ministry of Education, SaskCulture and financial support from Sask Lotteries.

We are contracting eight Saskatchewan artists to collaborate with our Program Coordinator to plan four, 45-minute arts education workshops for elementary school students, including a written guide for teachers. Artists will then present their workshops in a live broadcast. Workshops are presented over two days on location at a host school, and broadcast dates will be determined in the near future.

Each guest artist will be compensated for two to three planning days and two presentation days (in accordance with CARFAC rates), as well as travel, accommodations and per diems for the presentation days.

Broadcasts will speak to the diversity of artistry and artists in the province (including Indigenous programming and programs delivered in French). Guest artist selections will be based upon diversity, artistic experience, the viability of proposed workshop ideas and artist availability.

As this program works with youth populations in schools, a Criminal Record Check will be required from any successful applicant.
