Call for Applications: RISE Technical Residency
The RISE Technical Residency is a curatorial investigation by one of Dancemakers’ 2022-23 Guest Curators, Bageshree Vaze, who seeks ambitious works that utilize image-based technologies (ie- projection mapping and/or other interactive media) integrated with in-the-flesh dance making to reflect and honour this particular moment in time. Bageshree is interested in dance makers who have a strong team of collaborators who are either building bold political works from the ground up or who have already developed a work that aims to incorporate video projection and mapping with a long-term vision for the production. Applications due September 10
We strongly encourage artists who identify as Black, Indigenous, People of Colour, Disabled, Blind, Mad and/or Deaf to apply and we actively seek to support artists who work in a wide range of dance forms and traditions. We will provide fees for Accessibility support and/or Caregiving fees for artists who require it. Please note: C-Space does not currently have a wheelchair-accessible washroom but Dancemakers is willing to rent an accessible porta-potty if you or someone on your team requires it and/or provide one for public showings. There is a one-inch gap to get up into the space but other than that, the internal space is negotiable for mobility device use.
