Call for Projects: Dialogues: Encounters with Riopelle’s Oeuvre from Sea to Sea
Through its Canada-wide call for projects, Dialogues: Encounters with Riopelle’s Oeuvre from Sea to Sea is intended to mobilize artists, cultural workers, organizations and local communities to create public works of art (e.g., murals, sculptures, visual works, musicals, literary creations, etc.), participatory workshops or other initiatives based on cultural mediation, arts and cultural education, and artistic co-creation to generate a series of dialogues between Riopelle’s works and Canadian history, culture and heritage. In 2022-2023, the Dialogues program will provide financial support and personalized accompaniment to selected projects that, like Riopelle’s famous mosaics, will span across Canada from sea to sea, in each of its provinces and territories.
The program seeks to engage Canadians in a dialogue around the values of creative freedom, inclusion, cultural citizenship and the diversity of cultural practices and expressions.
Nature of the Support Given to Each Project
- Financial support of up to $30,000;
- A bank of 10 hours for support or training from experts, according to the needs of project leaders;
- Promotion of the project by Culture pour tous and the Riopelle Foundation in view of the centenary celebrations of Jean Paul Riopelle’s birth, as well as on the website dedicated to the program.
Submission deadline is October 10, 2022.
