Call for Applications: Performance Lab Residency Program

Hosted by Embrace Arts Foundation

The Performance Lab Residency welcomes 2-3 artists into the program each year to receive studio time, one-on-one mentorship, and access to a cohort of artists in the depths of creation. This year the mentor is Impulse's Artistic Producer, Andrew Barrett.   Adjudication is based on the state of the project as well as curation with other projects. Priority will be given to multidisciplinary projects. The Performance Lab Residency Program is intended for projects that have gone through the initial stages of development but have not yet had a full public presentation. The criteria for eligibility is open to discussion - if you feel like your project would benefit from this residency but feel it falls slightly outside the criteria, please contact us/apply and explain why.

IMPULSE PROVIDES:

  • 20 hours of dedicated studio time between November 1 - 19, 2022
  • One-on-one mentorship with Andrew Barrett through the duration of the Residency.
  • $1000 honorarium
  • A showcase opportunity with other residency projects on November 19
  • Access to all specialized Peek Fest workshops

**OUT OF TOWN ARTISTS: **We are able to subsidize some travel costs (eg. ferry and bus) for artists. If selected, we will work with you to secure billets for the duration of the festival.

Impulse Theatre’s Peek Fest is an annual festival on Lekwungen Territory/Victoria running November 1 to 19, 2022. The festival offers an exciting new look at work-in-development from some of the province’s most innovative creators and contributes to the development and growth of local arts workers through showcases, workshops, and community events.
