Job Opportunity: Community Dance Teacher

Canada's National Ballet School is currently inviting applications for the casual role of Community Dance Teacher.

We invite you to join the vibrant staff community of Canada's National Ballet School (NBS). NBS has 300+ employees supporting programs ranging from professional ballet training, community engagement, and ground-breaking health initiatives.    We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our Community Dance department, with the talent, innovative-thinking and passion to help NBS continue to share the transformative power of dance with people of all ages, abilities, and aspirations.   We are seeking both French and English -speaking dance educators, with a commitment to community-engaged practice, to find out more please visit https://www.nbs-enb.ca/dance-for-life/   We welcome applications from dance teachers of all forms and disciplines (eg, Hip Hop, Bhangra, Kathak) This is a casual position; hourly rates and schedule to be negotiated with the candidate. Consideration of applications will begin immediately and continue until the positions are filled.  


  • Experience teaching dance to school-aged children
  • Fluent in French and/or English
  • Comfortable with virtual and on-camera dance teaching
  • Committed to providing inclusive, child-centered learning environments
  • Experience working within a public school or other educational settings considered an asset

  Successful candidates must supply Canada's National Ballet School with a Vulnerable Sector Check in accordance with the School's Child Abuse/Sexual Abuse Prevention Policy; this will be coordinated through the Human Resources Department of NBS.
