Call for Applications: 2023 Manitoba Arts Award of Distinction
Nominations are now open for the 2023 Manitoba Arts Award of Distinction, which recognizes the outstanding accomplishments of a Manitoba artist, Indigenous Knowledge Keeper, or arts/cultural professional through an annual prize. Help us celebrate and honour the excellence, resourcefulness, and imagination of a Manitoba artist, Indigenous Knowledge Keeper, or arts/cultural professional by submitting a nomination to our Recognize – Prizes program.
- Prize amount: $30,000
- Who can be nominated? Professional artists, Indigenous Knowledge Keepers, and arts/cultural professionals
- Who can nominate? Individuals, groups, or organizations that have no conflict of interest with the nominee
- Deadline: December 15, 2022
Previous Award of Distinction recipients includes Daina Warren (2022), Alan Greyeyes (2020), Shawna Dempsey & Lorri Millan (2018), Diana Thorneycroft (2016), and Robert Archambeau (2014).
How to nominate someone Start your nomination through Manipogo, MAC’s Online Application System. Not an artist? No problem! If you don’t intend on applying for a grant from the Manitoba Arts Council, you can submit your nomination after creating a profile in Manipogo as a Nominator. Creating a Nominator profile takes about 5 minutes! **Note: **All nominated candidates must have a permanent physical address in Manitoba. Candidates must have lived in Manitoba for at least one full year immediately preceding application to the Manitoba Arts Council. Nominators do not need to be Manitoba residents. Candidates may only receive this prize once.
