Call for Applications: The Jeff Barnaby Grant

Hosted by imagineNATIVE Film + Media Arts Festival

The Jeff Barnaby Grant was created to honour the late Jeff Barnaby’s creative legacy and to recognize his tremendous and visionary contributions towards Indigenous Narrative Sovereignty, Genre Film, and Indigenous Cinema. The grant is funded through Netflix’s Fund for Creative Equity in memory of the contributions that Barnaby made through his participation in the company’s Advancing Voices program.

This grant is available for 5 Indigenous Film + Television creatives across Canada with productions at any stage in the Horror + Thriller + Futurism genre. Each selected recipient will receive $25,000 to support their projects.

Along with application form, please send the following support documents to submit@imagineNATIVE.org in PDF format:

  • Letter of inquiry
  • Pitch deck
  • 2-3 page treatment for the project
  • Total project budget
  • A breakdown of how you plan to use the $25,000 grant funds for your project
  • Project + Production timeline

Deadline: Thursday, February 20 at 11:59pm EST.
