Call for Applications: “From Where I Am” Short Doc Series

Hosted by National Film Board of Canada (NFB)

Deadline: July 6, 2020

We want to know what this unprecedented time looks and feels like from the POV of young storytellers (ages 18-21) from culturally, racially and linguistically diverse families. We’re sure life in a pandemic looks different from what we see in mainstream media, and we’re excited to share inside-out stories across our cities and suburbs.

Send us your proposals to creatively explore how you and your families are navigating isolation, global change, and anxiety about what the future might bring. Let us know how we can help you to tell these stories while maintaining social-distancing restrictions.

We will select four proposals based on originality, story, access, and feasibility. Participants will create their short docs with veteran director-mentors and the NFB Ontario Studio to be showcased online at #TheCurveNFB platform this fall 2020. Financing, resources, and editorial support will be provided.
