FluxDelux Test Run
Hosted by Peggy Baker Dance Projects
Massey Harris Park, 945 King Street West, Toronto, ON, Canada
9:45am – 11:15am
11:45am – 1:15pm
We are looking for adventurous movers to participate in our second test run of Peggy Baker Dance Projects’ newest version of FluxDelux!
FluxDelux is a no-experience-required participatory performance event for people 9 through 90+ on their feet or using a wheelchair. This project invites participants to share in the creation of a spontaneous choreography realized through directions delivered via a tailor-made Web app.
Updated to include new physical distancing guidelines, FluxDelux takes the theme of making, sharing and
holding space. Movement scores in development by Jaz Fairy J, Jera Wolfe and Peggy Baker, will provide a simple set of guidelines for people to follow and interpret on their own terms. No digital or prior dance experience is needed, but curiosity, comfortable and weather appropriate attire, a cell phone and earphones are required. The total time commitment is approximately 2hrs and includes an introduction to the project by Peggy, participation in the scores, and feedback for the development team.
Your safety is important to us and we have a comprehensive COVID plan in place. We are offering two times for participation so that two smaller groups with a maximum of 10 participants per group can be
accommodated. With the exception of those with medical conditions, the use of masks is required for this event.
One and all, wheelchair users and pedestrians, artists and non-artists, IBPOC, 2SLGBTQ+ are warmly welcome.
A $50 honorarium will thank you for your participation.
Interested? Sign up by filling out this Google form.
Massey Harris Park is wheelchair accessible. Washrooms are available at a Starbucks nearby. Movement scores will be shared via email on Friday by the end of the day. If you have any questions, including accessibility questions, please contact email@example.com.
