Intro to Letterpress with Kay Slater.
This workshop will prioritize Deaf and Hard of Hearing participants, instruction will be spoken as well as signed but we ask that Deaf and Hard of Hearing allies or those learning ASL to check in before registering so that we can reserve spots for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Participants.
Particpants who are new to Letterpress or in need of a refresher will learn some of the basics of typesetting, inking, and operating a manual letterpress. Participants will collaborate to create a poster and each person will print their own copy to take with them.
$40 sliding scale (pay what you can or free if you can’t)

All materials + equipment provided
ASL interpretation by Lisz Keallen. Wheelchair accessible venue. Wheelchair accessible washrooms. The height of the press is 38″. Operating the press requires pulling of levers and turning of cranks, and usually printing is done in pairs. More accessibility information is available on the WePress website.
