Alexandra Hickox (she/her) is a Deaf emerging artist. Alexandra graduated from OCADUniversity, with a Bachelor of Fine Art in photography and a minor in integrated media. In 2019 was awarded her Master’s Degree with distinction, from York University for her short film The 5%. This film tells the stories of Deaf individuals with a diverse range of experience and modes of communication. Currently Alexa is developing Undivided productions and a digital platform where the deaf artists create films. For the Deaf Spirit Theater company, she has worked in video production as part of the set and as a stage manager for five productions. Alexa is working remotely as a social media editor for Melmira, US Based Deaf advocate. Recent collaborations include working with Chris Corsini to create music videos that incorporate sign language. Alexa has worked with John Greyson, as both an actor and photographer assistant for his film Jericho/Bagdad.
