Katie Wackett is a multidisciplinary artist and film programmer based in Calgary, Alberta. She holds a Master’s degree in Cinema Studies from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours) from the University of Calgary. Katie has served as Festival Director of the Artifact Small Format Film Festival, a publisher for Luma: Film & Media Arts Quarterly, a programmer for the Calgary Underground Film Festival, and a Board Member at EMMEDIA Gallery & Production Society. Her career has centered on fostering community and creating positive educational experiences. She currently works with the National accessArts Center, where she is developing film programming as well as expanding her own artistic practice.
