Produced by artists jes sasche, Jenna Mackay, Jordyn Taylor, and Wy Joung Kou, Atrophy is a compilation of raw collage and written text that reflects on and broadens the conversation on rape culture by examining its presence in society through the lens of disability.
An excerpt: “Dear reader, I want to be very honest with you: the words you are about to read are heavy stones. We, a dedicated few, a part of a much larger many, have pulled them to show from the deep lake of secrets. Ancient as bones. They demand strength in their lifting. It is okay not to hold them all at once. They will wait still as long as you need them to. But they do ask for your consideration.”
This project was made possible by the Laidlaw Foundation.
